	Flea control that really works

Things are getting better all the time. Successful flea control is more convenient, less costly and safer than ever before.

In years past, flea control required continual fumigation of the house and yard with various types of chemicals or insecticides. It seemed to be a never-ending, and moderately unsuccessful, battle. The flea control shampoos, dips, sprays and powders didn't seem to be the "magic answer" either.

FINALLY we have two different flea control products that work incredibly well.

PROGRAM or SENTINEL is flea "birth control" medication that is given to the pet.
A once-a-month pill (dogs) or a twice-yearly injection (cats) is available.

FRONTLINE is a "spot-on" liquid applied to the pet's skin to kill adult, biting fleas.

Both of these are nontoxic and do not require concurrent home/yard fumigations to be effective.

HERE'S HOW THEY WORK:
PROGRAM
SENTINEL	When your cat or dog picks up a flea, that flea dies of old age in a few months. However, during that time it will lay hundreds of eggs. The primary source of flea infestation is the hatched eggs (the "next generation"). PROGRAM / SENTINEL kills these eggs, preventing new infestation.
FRONTLINE	Fleas that your pet picks up will bite within hours so that they can get a blood meal. These bites cause itching and rash in sensitive pets. FRONTLINE spreads an invisible shield over the skin that kills the fleas (and ticks) before they can bite. It does not come off with swimming or bathing. Apply monthly for flea & tick control or every 3 months for flea control only.

Your pet may occasionally pick up a few new fleas, but as long as you give the oral monthly PROGRAM / SENTINEL medication these fleas will not be able to reproduce and will soon die off.

Pet owners with cats that spend some time outdoors (these pets continually bring in fleas from other parts of the neighborhood) or those desiring tick control in addition to flea control may want to use FRONTLINE.

(Some fleas are seen or your pet develops itchy rashes with even a few bites)

PROGRAM / SENTINEL used continuously controls flea infestation so well that fumigation of the house and yard is no longer needed on a regular basis. As "birth control pills" for fleas it does not work well if used intermittently.

FRONTLINE provides more rapid flea control. It kills adult, biting fleas currently on the pet.This form of control reduces the itching and skin rashes caused by flea bites. Monthly use also controls ticks.

Note

(Large numbers of fleas are visible on the pet. The pet may have skin sores and infection. The house is infested and the fleas are biting people)

FRONTLINE provides rapid "on-the-pet" flea control. It kills adult, biting fleas and helps to control the itchiness and skin rashes associated with these bites.

Many products are available to treat the house and yard. The treatment should be repeated every 2-4 weeks until no more fleas are seen.

HOW SOON CAN I START ?

The doctors feel that FRONTLINE is safe to use on puppies and kittens as young as 8 weeks
(2 months) of age.
The label states that puppies must be 10 weeks old and kittens 12 weeks old but we have found no problem with its use on even younger pets.
PROGRAM can be started with pets as young as 6 weeks of age.

NOTE: Unfortunately, the other skin "spot-ons" that are available in pet stores do not work very well. Frontline or Advantage are the only products recommended.
